Solar Optimum

They're not scammers, but they couldn't organise a drink in a brewery. We signed up for solar on the 28th of December with install promised for January, it was finally all installed by the 20th March, but our electricity meter still hasn't been upgraded and won't be until the 1st of April, so although we had most of summer still to come when we signed on, we have now missed all the months where we may have been generating solar and getting credit by putting the excess back into the grid. The Rep was great with explaining everything really clearly and helping us navigate green loans and rebates, but once we were signed on communication was few and far between from him. He no longer answered my phone calls, instead asking me to call the office. The Solar Optimum office has outsourced its phones to a messaging service, I've left 10 messages with them and never had a single call returned. They contract out to an Installer, who then also contracts an electrician. The Installer is the only person who ever answered my calls or messages. We had hiccups - the battery and inverter system were too tall and couldn't actually be used in a residential setting, but this didn't get relayed to the electrician who installed then had to remove it. We then had to wait for Solar Optimum to arrange a different system, but nothing at all happened unless I phoned/emailed/messaged, at every single step I had to hassle them to actually schedule or order something, otherwise we would be left on the back burner with no work happening. The system Solar Optimum arranged has a slightly smaller battery, but also a smaller inverter, they didn't mention this or explain anything about it and I have no idea what the effects of this smaller system are, there is no reduction in price though of course. There was zero communication, you would think Solar Optimum would keep you updated on what was happening, but they were no longer taking my calls or replying to my messages/emails, let alone calling me, so I had to keep getting my communication via the Installer. Eventually the system was installed, no idea how well it works as nothing has been explained. I've been able to download the app and set the app up to see our solar usage and generation by Googling how to do it, but no help has been provided. And the meter upgrade was only just applied for, why you wouldn't apply for this once you know the install date is beyond me, because for the next 2 weeks we are now putting energy back into the grid but can't be credited for it. Like I said, it all happened eventually and we are so far happy with the system, the contractor was good, but Solar Optimum is disorganised, communicated really poorly, didn't complete any step without me prompting them, and are a huge waste of your time.

Absolute clown show. These guys subcontract to the dodgiest, cheapest mobs you'll ever encounter. I had my initial install done by 5 blokes that couldn't speak english. They damaged 18 out of 20 panels by dragging them across concrete. When I rang up the subbie to report the damage, he ended up telling me he'd come round and punch me in the face. He didn't. Solar Optimum attempted to rectify the situation by sending the exact same crew of installers back. I sent them home. Eventually I had my install replaced but it was like pulling teeth. Now I have found the panels currently installed are putting out significantly less power because they're cheap and nasty. I'm trying to call Solar Optimum about it, but they won't return calls. They've also "forgotten" to pay off the electricians that upgraded my electrical box. Avoid like the plague.

Do not use this organisation. They are unreliable, cannot be contacted for assistance, and do not follow through. I would give a zero if I could. They also begin charging before completing the job.

Had Solar Optimum install panels on my house. The install was straightforward, and they walked me through how to use the monitoring system. Would recommend.

Solar Optimum has great customer service and assisted me in transitioning effortlessly to solar energy. We had no issues in our installation process and the customer service is amazing. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for affordable and high quality solar panels.

Bought a $10000 dollar system and it does not work! Turns off all the time as it has1 no AC connection. Have called so many times but the person that can help me is always on another call, and they don't get back to you, even though I am a "priority customer"as my system doesn't work. Have my regular electricity bill and now my repayment bill. DO NOT PURCHASE from. Heck, give it a try, call them up and say your system isn't working and see if you actually get a call back

After being bombarded by cheap advertising on tv, I decided to research and purchase solar After a lot of confusing research a friend referred to Solar Optimum it was a godsend. Price was a little dearer but sales consultant knew his stuff and answered all my questions. He attended my house in person and the company kept in contact with me during the approval period and installation. A very smooth experience from start to finish. Installers were prompt and very helpful explaining the positioning of the panels. Installation was neat and tidy with no disruptions and on schedule. I would recommend this company to anybody wanting to install solar.
