Space Solar: Sydney

Victor helped us design a solar system for our new build about six years ago, and the setup he recommended ended up being perfect for our needs — our payback was even quicker than expected. A couple of years after installation we had a small issue, and the Space Solar team came out the very next day and sorted it out without any fuss. When it came time to add battery storage, we went straight back to Space Solar and Victor. He and his team organised a great deal for us, designed a storage setup that fit our household usage, and had everything installed before summer kicked in. We’d happily recommend Victor and the whole Space Solar team. We’ve already sent family their way, and they’ve had great experiences too.

Unfortunately substandard work. Various mounting screws left loose, and inadequate and messy waterproofing. Rubbish left around the property, including biscuit wrappers. My off grid property was treated like a rubbish tip. The system is not configured correctly, an example is the Off-Grid System with a 7kW generator set to 30kW. And when the generator runs, the monitoring shows the power coming from the solar panels, not grid, as per the installation documentation. Just default settings, not "installed and configured" correctly. Earthing requirements by manufacturer not followed for an Off-Grid system. I have big concerns the system is not safe. Edit on Reply: The Space Solar owner calls me "rubbish" for wanting what I paid for. That's not only incredibly insulting, but pretty sure that's defamation. I was missing a remote start plug. But I guess that is the reason to not install and "wire to the generator", as per the quote, correctly, then leave rubbish around and leave the system loose on the wall. I guess it's my fault...?

2017 Nov : I purchased a SolarEdge system from Space Solar. They quoted 1 day to install, but took 2 days. They also disconnected my TV antenna cable by accident without knowing, then denied that they did it. 2023 Aug : One of the solar panels stopped generating. I contacted Space Solar for service. They quoted $330 for an inspection. When I mentioned my consumer rights (Fair Trading Act 1987 NSW), they changed their mind and quoted $550. 2023 Sep 22 : I filed a complain with Fair Trading NSW. As a result, Space Solar told Fair Trading that they would come inspect for $330 instead of $550. Fair Trading also told me that, when they queried Space Solar on how did they come up with $550, the person at Space Solar could not give them an answer. I proceeded to file this matter in NCAT. 2023 Nov 15 : Group hearing at NCAT Parramatta. Space Solar did not send any representative to the hearing. The tribunal adjourned the hearing and have it re-listed for second and final hearing. 2024 Jan 16 : Hearing at NCAT Parramatta. Space Solar did not send any representative to the hearing again. The member of the tribunal decided to proceed with the hearing. The outcome was, the tribunal issued an order, that Space Solar would pay me a cash compensation in order to cover the cost of another installer coming to repair my solar panel. Would you like to buy something, anything, let alone a solar system, from a business who doesn't even turn up to a tribunal hearing?

Just installed 48 panels on the roof, even raining days still can generate 30 to 40 KW electricity, Victor is good man, honest and reliable, discuss details with me on how and where to install panel. Technicians are all good, they were carefully walking on the roof, no tile had been broken, in last two raining days, roof was good without leakage. After installation, there are a few issues with inverter and smart meter, in two days, Victor had fixed all the issues. Easy to talk with them, it would be more than happier if they can do the same over warranty period. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Solar Company!! Sales process was pretty good, Daniel was straight to the best price he could do... not a cent reduction but still the best price out of the quotes I got... he was also the only one who actually visited our property before giving a quote, he provided a great support on email, text and phone all along, he really makes sure all your questions are answered and you feel comfortable with the purchase, last but not least he helped to arrange a super fast installation for me. The installers (Sean and two colleagues) were legendary, expert, fast, flexible, efficient... couldn't ask for more and to be honest didn't expect that level of service, Sean gave me the option to install the inverter either outdoor close to meter box or inside the garage, I went with indoor. Staff in office are also very friendly... Super happy with Space Solar and highly recommend them 🙂

My roof top solar system, installed by Space Solar, suffered a catastrophic failure. It was still under the 10 year warranty, but Space Solar refused to fix it. I had a qualified, independent inspector perform an audit which found 2 non-compliant, installation-related issues. One of them caused the system failure, the other one has compromised equipment and potentially voiding the manufacturer's warranty for the components. I put in a warranty claim with Space Solar for the cost of fixing issue 1 and rectifying issue 2. They have refused to do either. They have been a nightmare to deal with and provably cut corners - I have included a few snippets from the inspection report, a collection of the lies Victor Guo Space Solar has told in order to shirk responsibility and an example of how rude and disparaging he was during our correspondence. Do NOT use them.

I highly recommend Space Solar and their team. I had a stand alone battery system installed in Oct 2023 and the system has performed perfectly. If I have any questions or support issues, they have responded promptly with excellent support. I am so glad I used Space Solar as my Solar installer. Excellent knowledge and support.
