Avoid Pool Smart True Blue Pools. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for pool maintenance or installation services. I initially chose Pool Smart True Blue Pools after seeing their SPSA membership, online reviews, and claims that their work was guaranteed. Unfortunately, my experience dealing with the owner, Oliver, was extremely disappointing. Communication and reliability were major issues, and the service provided did not meet professional standards. At first, Oliver appeared responsive and professional — quick to quote and promise results. However, problems began soon after payment. He invoiced before the job was completed, attempted to increase the quoted amount, and supplied a pump that did not perform as required. After consulting the manufacturer, I was advised that the pump was undersized for my pool and should not have been used. Despite repeated assurances that the issue would be fixed, no action was taken, and my calls and messages went unanswered. I eventually sought assistance from NSW Fair Trading and then lodged a claim with the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT). The Tribunal ordered Oliver to refund the cost of the unsuitable pump, which he did only after the order was made. In my view, the product supplied was not fit for purpose, and I had to go through an unnecessarily lengthy process to obtain a resolution. I strongly suggest that anyone considering using this company exercise caution and research carefully before engaging their services especially the Facebook reviews most of the reviewers live in Indonesia.
Fantastic service, technical explanations and equipment. Oliver and his team worked at record speed to ensure a dated system was replaced and the overall installation was fit for purpose. Extremely professional, and went the extra mile to make sure we understood how to use the equipment. Particularly impressed with attention to safety and health considerations for the children. Also grateful for the feedback to phone calls and messages over the period. Highly recommended to anyone who wants an efficient, professional service from a company that cares about its customers.
I would not recommend this company for the reasons below- 1. Very poor communication and often not showing up when they say. Accepted quote in July 2024 and pool not swimmable until the following February. 2. They were tasked to replace a pool liner and the new liner has three patched holes, one unpatched hole, a skimmer box that was installed 10cm to low which also means the return jet is now above water line. Skimmer box is not straight. 3. The deck reinstall is poor workmanship-screws still protruding, splits in the wood, wood broken. 4. The pool fence was not put back in place and was left unsafe. 5. The invoices keep coming for a job not completed to standard with threats of taking it further. Invoices that were on top of original quote. 6. I still have their rubbish lying around. This is been a very stressful time and our pool is worse than before they started.
Poolsmart true blue - headed by Oliver De Guía Ross installed a new naked pool system, new high efficiency pump, new glass media filter and replaced a worn out solar heater with a 19kW heat pump on our 40 year old pool. Oliver was very prompt in responding to my initial query. He knows his stuff and gave good advice about the priorities for renovating the old pool. Once agreed, the new equipment was installed the next day. There was a couple of small issues with the installation (some damaged equipment and secure footings for heat pump) and an overcharge error on the final invoicing. However, when brought to Oliver’s attention, he responded very promptly replacing the damaged part, remaking the footing and reissuing the correct invoice - no arguments, no problems. The water quality in the pool has never looked better and so far the system is looking after itself and saving me a heap of worries. Probably the best investment in the pool I have made. Oliver is young bloke who has been in the industry a good while but running his own show for only a few years. In this regard, he is perhaps still learning the ropes a bit. He possibly spreads himself a bit thin a times across sales, maintenance, tradies and subcontractors, admin and customer service. However, I am very happy with the outcome of the job and would definitely use him again.
I do not recommend this company. A complete nightmare. The standard of work is extremely poor. They installed new pump and filter which is leaking at pipe join and around the lid. They wont come and fix it unless we pay them again. He is trying to get way more than the price quoted. The pool has not even been fixed up. We are now doing this ourselves. He wants as much money out of you without doing what he has quoted for. Very shonky and very shoddy workmanship. I would very strongly recommend you do not use this company. If you could give minus stars It would be -5. He has now told us to get a contractor to come and fix the leaking filter he supplied and fitted. The leaking filter and pipes are not warranty work. Warranty only covers faulty parts, not faulty workmanship on installation. This has now been fixed by someone else.
Ripped us off and didn't solve our issue. Seemed to have no real idea what he was doing, would never use again. Do your research before engaging even if your insurance company has lined him up. Would have allocated zero stars if allowed.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! In mid October a deposit was paid for work that was meant to start the 1st week of Nov 2023 & take 3/4 days. Work was not STARTED until 22nd Dec & after many messages & emails, finished 3rd February 2024. Our job was for Oliver & company to install a new liner in our above ground pool. We had demands for payment when the work hadn't even been started & were harassed with messages & emails suggesting the purchase of a pool cleaner when we didn't even have a working pool! We also had a message on 19th December saying, "I just want to reach out & give you a quick update on how things are going. I'm happy to inform you that everything is going really well so far." THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED YET! Another message 21st December (again before any start on our pool) was asking for a 5 star review & also stating, "If there's anything more we can do for you, please contact us." Remember, they hadn't even started & this was about 7 weeks after the promised start date. Finally on 22nd December, a sub contractor was brought in. He was able to partially install the liner but was unable to finish, as the necessary parts hadn't been obtained. The pool remained like that for ANOTHER MONTH! When Pool Smart True Blue came to finish the work, it was not done to a proper standard, with pool trim not correctly assembled & newly installed fittings, leaking. After three subsequent visits, the fittings were still leaking & it was obvious they didn't have a clue what they were doing. Extremely disappointed in the poor workmanship, lack of communication, harassment & total unreliability of this company. If you're thinking of using this company, do yourself a favour & DON'T!
