Review overdue! Many thanks to the owner who assisted in my purchase of a Blitner piece last year which was packaged very well all the way from Darwin to Melbourne. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about Indigenous Australian art, and in supporting local artists. It is a great feeling to be able to purchase beautiful art and support local communities and business at the same time.

I got a commission piece from Louise Numina a year ago and I could not be happier! Every visitor compliments it and many ask for the details to get their own, so I thought I better leave a public review! It was incredibly easy to arrange with Readback. The piece was completed within a few days, and I was sent pictures and a short video of Louise painting it. The canvas arrived to me in another couple of days and then I got it framed locally. Amazing quality, authentic art, exactly to the dimensions and colours I wanted. It is the hero of our home, tying the outside in. Extremely reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Over the past few years we have purchased a number of paintings from the Readback Gallery. Having spent a number of years previously living in both Alice & Darwin, we really appreciate indigenous art. Currently in Darwin visiting friends and made another trip to Readback gallery where we purchased another two paintings. Staff are friendly, helpful and very professional. What I really like is their association with the artists and the excellent value of the art works they sell. No inflated prices and a genuine care to assist either well established artists or up and coming one’s. Highly recommend the gallery to anyone who wants fantastic indigenous art at realistic prices.

They have some nice local artwork but it is a shame that they use all Chatgpt AI generated slop for for their Facebook posts.

Definitely worth a visit! Incredible collection. Varying sizes and good information about artist and story of each painting. Good talking with owner about how she got into the business and her knowledge and connections with the artists are commendable. Love the combination of a book store as well.

I recently visited Readback Books & Aboriginal Art Gallery and had a truly wonderful experience. Loretta, the owner, was incredibly knowledgeable about Aboriginal art and culture, and it was evident in the exquisite collection of artworks on display. What really made my visit special was the opportunity to see Aboriginal artist Eddie working on his stunning paintings right there in the shop. His works were truly outstanding, and it was a privilege to see him at work. The bookstore also had a great selection of books on indigenous history and culture, which added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this gallery to anyone who wants to learn more about Aboriginal art and culture and witness or buy some of the most outstanding works by local Aboriginal artists
