Customer Reviews
All About Exposed Aggregate has a rating of 1.7 out of 5 based on over 11 reviews on Google
I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share this to spare others the same stress, expense, and disappointment I’ve faced. I engaged Steve Davey trading as All About Exposed Aggregate for a large scope of work at my property on the Mornington Peninsula. The experience was nothing short of disastrous. After paying a 50% deposit, I was pressured into making two more payments, told the job couldn’t continue otherwise. Each issue somehow became my fault — the soil was "too much," the concrete "too thick," the access "too tight," or the quote "too low." Instead of taking responsibility or sticking to the agreed scope, Steve continually shifted blame, creating unnecessary pressure. From the outset, the workmanship was careless and below standard. The driveway was not excavated to the agreed 100 mm depth (confirmed on video), and no proper compaction was done, despite this being included and paid for. Steve was recorded on my driveway camera saying that "because of the concrete dust in the recycled crushed rock, wetting it down is enough," and that "anything between 90 and 100 will do for the driveway depth." These comments show a clear disregard for the agreed specifications and for basic industry standards. The site was left unsafe, unfinished, and poorly prepared — a clear hazard for my family. Despite repeated promises of a refund, Steve abandoned the job and stopped responding altogether. What’s even more concerning is that I’ve since learned of multiple other customers and businesses who describe the exact same pattern of behaviour: large upfront payments, endless delays, and an ever-growing list of excuses. It’s incredible how much "bad luck" he seems to have — always another setback or excuse. Meanwhile, Steve continues to work and operate on the Mornington Peninsula, offering promises that lead nowhere. His words feel empty and performative — there has been no genuine accountability, no refund, and no effort to make things right for the damage and disruption he caused. He has since ceased all communication entirely. Everything on his website about guaranteed quality, honest communication and full insurance has been completely inconsistent with my experience. This has caused enormous stress, lost time, and further expense to make the site safe again. If you’re considering All About Exposed Aggregate, please research thoroughly and proceed with extreme caution.
Stay away from this company. We had a $45,000 job in Mt Eliza to be done and was told it would be done before my daughter's birthday (back in April) and almost 8 months after starting the job, it still hasn't been completed after months of empty promises, arguments and not showing up. We paid 50% of the quote before commencement and 2 days after the job started, when the concrete truck showed up, he didn't have money to pay for it so we were told to pay another $11,000 on the spot. A few hours later, he told us he didn't have money to pay his concreters and we were asked to pay for the balance of the quote on the promise that in two days, he would complete the job. We are still waiting. The concrete is still yet to be acid washed or sealed. Doesn't answer our calls, doesn't rock up when he says he will. This has been the worst experience we have ever had with a trade. DO NOT TRUST STEVE!
I hired All About Exposed Aggregate (Steve Davey) for a concrete job that was quoted as a 3-day project. I paid over $8000 upfront for the work. What should have taken 3 days stretched into months with constant excuses and delays. When I finally requested a refund due to the ongoing issues and lack of progress, my calls and messages went completely unanswered. I was essentially ghosted after handing over $8000 of my hard-earned money. To this day, I have not received my refund. The lack of professionalism, accountability and basic communication has been extremely disappointing and costly. I cannot recommend this business based on my experience. Potential customers should stay away.
steve is the absolute worst. unprofessional is an understatement. i was about to use him for my concreting, only to talk to previous clients and others he has taken advantage of, took their money and did not provide any product, indeed, causing more damage to the properties. This included an elderly couple, retirement village, and a few young families. Do not use this man or any one affiliated with him.
This service makes promises, and does not deliver. Takes money, requests more with excuse after excuse, and never finishes jobs. Run, don't walk, away from Steve Davey.
Really disappointed in his work, and his professionalism. Steve Davey took money and did not finish the job. Do not use this service.
Should be 0 stars. He does not deserve 1 star. Avoid at all costa. Don't be fooled by a good website.
