★☆☆☆☆ Poor Quality Concrete – Inconsistent Mix and Broken Promises I ordered 6 cubic meters of Cocos exposed aggregate concrete from Holcim for a residential project in Concord. The first half of the driveway turned out to be full of defects—large holes, deep patches, and an uneven surface appeared during the wash-off process. The second half of the pour, however, came out fine with a clean, consistent finish. This clear inconsistency shows the concrete was not properly mixed. If the mix had been uniform, the defects would have appeared across the whole driveway—not just in the first half. Due to this poor-quality batch, we had to resurface the affected area at a cost of over $4,000. I contacted Holcim multiple times, and after several discussions with their case manager, Josh, he acknowledged the issue and agreed to cover 50% of the damage. But later, he changed his position and offered only a $1,000 credit, far below what was initially promised and what the situation demands. As a contractor, I expect reliable service and accountability from a supplier like Holcim. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and I’m very disappointed with how the issue was handled.
