I was broken down and my automatic gearbox had died. I spoke to Paul at 8 am on a Friday morning. He rebuild the gearbox at a very good price and it was finished at 5 pm so I could drive home to Brisbane next morning. Outstanding service. The best I have experienced in my 83 years.

I had an issue with my VE commodore sticking gears and suspected it was the transmission. I took it down to the folks, and Paul assessed it looking for fault codes, couldn't pull any, and so suspecting mechanical issues he took it for a ~10 minute drive to reproduce and understand the problem. He gave me some ballpark figures but suggested given the costs to replace it vs it's current market value, I'd be better off selling it and moving on. All in all probably spent 30 mins and didn't charge me a cent - that's honest service right there. Thanks guys!

Went and saw Paul after being told my transmission on my car was on it's way out by another local mechanic. Paul had a look at it and was the compressor of the air conditioner unit. Paul was able to fix it that day and my car is now as good as new. So honest and such a great job done I will be definitely go back for all my car services!

The guys are knowledgeable, hard working, honest and very helpful when it comes to gearboxes for sedans or 4wd vehicles. They also do ac units. Highly recommend Lilydale Automatics.
